Why would you want to buy a resume? It's not difficult to create one. Here's a good resource to get you started: http://www.mahalo.com/How_to_write_a_resume

    Re: resume help

I have to agree with Helen.  As a practical matter, a well executed resume is  an asset that might get you an interview -  but it's hardly  necessary to invest a lot of money in it because almost invariably you'll hand them your resume and they'll hand you a application form to fill outSad  In my not so humble opinion, where you need to spend serious time and effort is preparing for all-important interview!  'Generic' of course, but also doing your homework about the industry and company where you're applying.  It sounds oh so obvious, but you'd be amazed at how few actually bother.

    Re: resume help

There are professional writers who will write resumes for a fee.

Good news: Someone else is writing your resume and you don't have to

Bad news: Once you get into the interview, it may become clear to your interviewer that you did not write resume. Does it necessarily matter? Maybe not, but I would play it conservative here. I agree with henryw on this one: the interview is where you can really shine.

Good tip for writing your resume: double check spelling & grammar (and try not to only rely on Microsoft Word - grab a dictionary, and have a friend proofread your work). There's nothing worse than working hard to write your resume, only to discover a simple typo later.

I hope that I read your question correctly. You CAN NOT "buy" resume, and you need to build your own resume by working and gaining experience. Once you have the real world experience, you may get your resume professionally written. Here is the url link and you will find some one to help you with moderate fees.

    Good luck!

    Re: resume help

I used to work in broadcasting, which meant I changed jobs about once every two years for nearly 20 years.  Yes, that got incredibly old, which is why I now do something else.

In my experience, it is far more effective to write a resume specifically for the position for which you are applying.  Back in the day, having a generic resume which highlighted your experience was enough, but with so much more competition for work these days it is much better to tailor your resume for each job for which you are applying.  You want to highlight the experience and job skills you have that you think each particular employer you will be talking to might be interested in seeing.

    Re: resume help

I second Terry's post.  I've been applying broadly for all kinds of positions recently just using a generic, one size fits all, resume.  So far I have only had 2 hits and both of those were from resumes that were specific to the position.

    Re: resume help

Tailoring resumes is important.  So too is a good cover letter.  Often the best thing to do is just copy the job posting into a blank document and then revise it into being a cover letter that touches on everything important to them.

    Re: resume help

I know you've gotten a lot of similar feedback, but I would encourage you to spend a little time and create your own--when you actually go to interview you'll be far more comfortable elaborating on it if you've created it from scratch.  I recently came across this video series that was helpful to me--it's a bit dry, but incredibly informative: http://www.monkeysee.com/play/3738-how-to-write-a-resume

Anyway, I hope this helps, and good luck!

    Re: resume help

I would suggest to hire a professional resume writer to help you tailor you resume to your needs. I dont' think anyone really 'sells' resume out there.

    Re: resume help

Buying it wouldn't make much sense as your future employers will most probably ask you lots of detail on your CV. If you haven't written it yourself and it isn't formulated in a way you are used to you may seem less credible and that can only limit your chances at getting the job.

Writing a good resume isn't hard with all the information and sample resumes you find online anyway!

Getting help writing it isn't a bad idea, because it can be harder than it may seem.  Your school may have a "career services" department, if so they can help you with things like this and with mock interviews and so forth.
