Message from the President
At New England College, innovation and entrepreneurship are at the heart of everything we do. They are woven throughout the classroom experience, our athletic programs, and the co-curricular activities that we offer. It follows then, that this academic catalog, rather than just a listing of programs and courses, serves as a roadmap for an important and formative time in the lives or our students. A time that prepares them to chart their own futures in a fast-paced society that thrives on change, rewards inspiration and imagination, and trades in ideas and solutions.
Outlined in these pages are a series of educational programs that address the most pressing needs of our society and speak to the highest aspirations of our students. This academic catalog describes the benefits of a broad-based liberal arts education that prepares our students to pursue more in-depth study in a chosen field or to take the first steps on the path to a meaningful career.
If we look beyond the specific academic programs, described in this publication are a wealth of resources developed specifically to enhance the academic experience of our students. The Pathways Center offers academic advising and tutoring and assistance in integrating the educational experience of our students with their future career options. There are dozens of clubs and co-curricular organizations that allow students to focus their attention on a particular area or broaden their experience with a new skill or interest. And for those who seek to immerse themselves in a unique learning environment, there are study abroad options as well. The possibilities are endless and the opportunities are real.
What is harder to see in the pages of this publication are the people who make New England College a special place. Our faculty’s dedication to teaching has impacted the lives of their students; our staff support the academic process with their professional expertise; and our students share the academic goals of their colleagues and help to motivate and inspire each other. As a student at New England College, this is something you will experience for yourself.
I welcome you to New England College and encourage you to participate fully in the NEC community and to explore, create, and succeed.
With best wishes,
Michele D. Perkins, Ed.D.
President
