I recently received a letter from Penn Foster College informing me that my semester is over. The unfortunate thing is I still have three courses to complete for the semester: Managerial Finance, Introduction to Literature and a computer course.
PFC did offer me the option of extending my semester another six months to allow me to finish, at a cost of $75. Part of me would like to just get my transcripts for the courses I have already completed and just finish everything at Andrew Jackson University, where I am also taking courses. However, I am still paying for the Penn Foster College courses, so I'm kind of stuck. I'll have to pay the $75 and push on through.
Part of the problem is this: I am just burned out. I have been working on college courses off-and-on for four years now, and I am still several credit hours away from earning my bachelor's degree. There are some nights where I come home from work and all I want to do is curl up in bed and get some sleep. But, I can't. Many nights, I work on my courses until 1 or 2 am, wake up at 7 am to go work, finish at 6 pm, come home and start working on coursework again. On the weekends, I work most of the day on my course material. It's a vicious cycle that has been going on since I started also taking classes at AJU last September.
I also have a time issue at AJU. I earned an "incomplete" on my three courses I'm taking there this semester because I couldn't finish in time. I have until May 22nd to finish those courses, or those "incompletes" will turn into "Fs". That is not an option for me. The AJU courses have been given priority over the PFC courses, for now.
I will pay the extension at PFC, and will hopefully be done with the AJU courses within the next week or so. Then, I have to study for the final exams. After I take the finals, I can FINALLY address my PFC coursework in ernest.
My head hurts just thinking about it.
