I’ll get a second chance at taking the two exams I failed
during my semester one finals for Penn
Foster College
later this week. The re-take exams for
Business Orientation and Principles of Management are scheduled for Wednesday
evening.
As I’ve mentioned before, I ran out of time while taking the
Principles of Management exam, but I’m confident I would have passed just fine
if I had another 20 minutes to finish the exam.
I don’t have the faintest idea why I bombed the Business Orientation
course. The only thing I can think of is
my answer sheet was either lost or wasn’t graded. I answered every question on the exam, which
is OPEN book.
I have been cramming the past few days, using the tips in my
Penn Foster study guide on semester exams (yes, they actually have a study
guide for this) and I have been highlighting my text books to correspond with
the information the study guides say I need to know. I’ll also mark these pages with Post-It Notes
so I can quickly locate the info I need.
Speed is everything when taking the semester finals.
I have an hour and a half to take the two exams…a half hour
for Business Orientation and an hour for Principles of Management. I feel pretty good about taking these exams…much
more confident than I was when I first took them. I guess that’s because I know what to
expect.
Once again, I’m toying with the idea of transferring my
credits from Penn Foster
College to another school and
shooting straight for a bachelor degree instead of an associate degree. Although I would prefer a regionally
accredited bachelor degree, I have been looking over the Ashworth University BS
in Marketing and the California Coast
University business administration
degree. I’ll likely finish with Penn
Foster and transfer to one of the “Big Three”. There are certain places I want to go with my
career, I eventually want to be able to get a master’s degree from a “name”
school…something that would be quite difficult to do with an undergraduate
degree from a DETC accredited school (not
that there’s anything wrong with that).
Back to the books…wish me luck!
