I’m sorry to say I’m STILL working on my Reflective Writing
essay. It is the second-to-last essay I
have to write. My final essay doubles as
the final exam for my English Composition course at Penn
Foster College.
Part of the problem is I have been busy working on some
freelancing projects, which takes time away from my writing. I am actually halfway through the essay, but
writing this one is especially difficult.
I am supposed to write about something from my childhood…something
which taught me a lesson that I can now look back upon as an adult and come to
some kind of understanding about it. I
chose to write about my parents’ divorce.
My parents have both been remarried for more than 25
years. In fact, I am nearing nearly 20
years of marriage myself. However,
revisiting the experience of my family being split in two has forced to look at
parts of my life that I would just as soon forget.
I think that is what will make this a decent essay. The thoughts and feelings that I experienced
are coming out on the printed page. But,
I do have to say this…it has not been a pleasant experience, or a fun
assignment.
I hope to wrap this thing up this weekend. I had actually hoped to be completely done
with my whole semester by now, and studying for my semester finals, but once
again I have experienced delays. I’m
convinced I would have the same problem even if I were studying with a
different school. This has all been my
fault.
I have also decided that I am going to stick with Penn
Foster College
after this semester. Since I have worked
on this first semester for two years, I will have to work twice as hard and
finish each of my remaining semesters in less than six months. I think I can do it.
I’m not worried about transfer credit. Penn
Foster College’s
courses (most of them, anyway) are reviewed by the American Council on
Education, or ACE. Penn Foster also has
an agreement with Mountain State
University, which will accept
entire associate degrees for students wishing to pursue a bachelor degree. There are also plenty of other schools which will
accept credits from Penn Foster
College, so I believe this is the
most economical choice for me.
Now I just have to finish this course.
