Over the weekend I took another online exam in my Principles
of Marketing course. This one covered
advertising, Integrated Marketing Communications and public relations. It took me a bit longer to get through the
exam than I would have liked, but the bottom line is I SCORED ANOTHER 100! Yippee!
I now have only two more chapters to read in my Contemporary
Marketing textbook, and one more exam to take.
After that, it’s time to finish the three essays I still have waiting
for me back in English Composition, and then some cramming for my semester
finals.
Considering I used to write for a living, I hate to say it,
but I’ve really been procrastinating on the essays. I scored a good grade on my first essay, so I
don’t know why I’ve been putting off writing the others. They just don’t seem to be as…I don’t know…INTERESTING
as the marketing course has been. With
the marketing course, I’m learning something new. With English Composition, I feel like I am
treading old ground that I have walked before, many times. I guess I have to, as the saying goes, “grin
and bare it”.
An added benefit of scoring the 100 on my most recent exam
is that I am starting to nudge my grade average a bit higher. I was sitting at a 92, but it has inched up
to a 93. If I keep scoring in the high
90’s and 100’s, I think I can finish my courses with a 95. I want the “A”, but I want the solid “A”.
Meanwhile, I have started compiling my study materials for
two different CLEP exams I plan to take soon:
Natural Sciences and Social Science and History. Since the testing centers are not open on a
day on which I am off work, I plan to take a day off to take both of these
exams on the same day, and hopefully score 12 credit hours of General Education
credits to apply to my bachelor degree.
That wouldn’t be bad for one day’s work.
By comparison, I will have compiled 17 credit hours after finishing my
extended semester at Penn Foster
College. Hmmm…perhaps I went about this the wrong
way. Time is money, after all.
At least I have the satisfaction of scoring the 100!
