Normally this post would have been about Global Finance and Regional Currency Crises. But that comes next week. This week is school-free due to the holidays. No assignments or discussions this week. And I can tell you that I am happy to not having school hanging over my head this week. It is a well-needed break from the rat race.
I did pick up my GPA after the week 2 assignment. If you will remember, I tanked the first assignment. The week two assignment was much better with an 85%. So maybe I am looking up.
I did want to pass along information on a great resource that I found. If you are a manager of people, you might want to check out the
Manager Tools Podcast at
http://www.manager-tools.com/I subscribed to this podcast a couple of months ago, but I haven’t had the time to really pay attention to it. On the drive from Houston to Austin this weekend I took the time to listen to three podcasts from them and was pleasantly surprised to know that a lot of what they talk about applies to people like me. If you are a typical manager dealing with people, hiring, interviewing, or any wide range of tasks that managers do, this one is for you.
I like podcasts that don’t seem like 2-hour seminars. My attention span is about an hour. These podcasts fit in perfectly. If I remember correctly, they were all under an hour. And the information gleaned from them is very useful. Here is a list of some of the podcasts I listened to:
