My Norwich University Experience

Via Colori

I did something this weekend that I have not done in what seems like forever.  I got out and took some photos.   I also went to an art festival that was pretty amazing.  At the end of the day, I realized how I have been so incredibly bombarded with school work since I started this online MBA program.  One of the costs of that program is little to no free time to do the things I like to do.  Since we have two weeks between classes right now, I plan on taking full advantage of the opportunity.

Via Colori is a street-art festival in Houston.  The festival showcases more than 175 artists who create original masterpieces on the street in a pastel medium.  A good time was had by all.  And I got some great pictures.

Being in downtown Houston, I was able to get some good pictures of a few of the buildings down there.  I was raised in Houston, but never had the opportunity to go downtown for the purpose of taking pictures.

Finally, my friend’s band, The Flying Fish Sailors played a set at the Via Colori Festival.  The band plays Celtic/Folk music and has developed a large cult following over the years.   I also got some great photos of that event.

Today is the final day of my 4-day weekend that I usually take after every class.  This one was the most productive one that I’ve had in a while.  I know that in a handful of days I will get back into the rat race with International Business.   I think that with the workload of the last couple of classes I have lost my “balance” in some respects.  I think it’s important to maintain a balance between school and other outside activities.  You can’t cheat one for the benefit of the other.  So I’ll be working on that more in the future.
