I am happy to report that we are winding down in Operations Management. We’re in our final two days and trying to get all of the assignments in on time. We have an individual project due (Saturday) and a group project to turn in (Sunday). Both are very complex. I am very happy that I started early on my part. If I had procrastinated, I would be in a very bad position. Once both of these assignments are turned in, I will have the week off. I plan on doing absolutely nothing.
Have you ever consumed a lot of coffee or other caffeine-based product early in the morning and you spend most of the day high as a kite, doing things that are fun, accomplishing a lot at work and home … only to suffer the effects of the crash when it wears off? I feel like that right now with school. Operations Management is one of those subjects where you realize that eleven weeks were spent learning a LOT about the strategy, process analysis, quality (in various forms), capacity analysis, supply chain. But at the end of the day, you realize that there is so much more to learn just to have a meaningful grasp. I know I learned a lot, but there are times I feel overwhelmed at the possibilities.
I do want to send props out to Apple. I am thoroughly enjoying my new iPhone 3G and my second generation iPod Touch. These are two of the best things I’ve purchased in a long time. They have become essential life tools in a matter of a few days.
I also ordered a
HP Mini 1000. These are great little laptops. It’s an upgrade to another very cool mini laptop I already use. I can’t wait for it to come in.
And in closing, I know that with the end of the year, things start to wind down. But if you have any questions about
distance learning,
feel free to ask me. I am happy to provide you with a straight-forward answer based on my years of experience in this area.
