It’s over. Strategic Marketing. It didn’t take long to get the grade back. After many hours of working with my team and coming up with almost 60 Power Point slides that analyzed the marketing characteristics of the target company, we got an 83. Some of my teammates are disappointed. I am disappointed as well. I was hoping for a high “B” or a low “A”. But one thing is for sure. We are all glad this class is behind us.
There was a lot of conflict in this class. And that conflict was not between the students. I think our perspective at this point is that we’re glad it’s over and we’re going to look forward to a fresh start with the next class.
One of the weirdest things or feelings I get is when the class ends. My schedule is pretty tight in that I spend my lunch break at work posting to message boards, working on assignments in small chunks of time when I have the opportunity, etc. We turned in our assignment Sunday night and I woke up to go to work Monday with no school work to worry about. It feels like a huge weight off of my shoulders, but I am not sure I like that feeling. I can only imagine how I will feel when it’s ALL done.
We get a two-week break now. I suppose I can watch the Olympics.
On the distance education front,
here is a good story about how a soldier deployed to war was able to get his Masters degree online. It’s good to see distance learning working for those deployed to Iraq. Not only do the military folks get their degree, but this also helps to get them ahead in life. If they were made to wait until they returned to get their degree, doing so would just set them back a couple of years. I am glad to see this kind of stuff.
