My Norwich University Experience

Final Week Approaching

The last week of class is approaching.  As a matter of fact, it will start in a couple of days.  The last week of class is spent working as a team to put together a project that encompasses marketing strategy and analysis of the company we study during the program.

Today is spent on a conference call where students actually speak with representatives from the company we’re studying to ask questions about their processes, strategy, etc.  In this case marketing is the topic.  As someone who has taken part in the conference calls, I can say they are hectic as you have to write down everything that is said so the team will have enough information to write about.

Typically, marketing plans can take many months to develop, but for this assignment we will draw on the information provided by the target company and abbreviate the sections normally found in a full marketing plan. The final paper is due Sunday of next week.  If this class is like the previous two, we will all be buried in work for the next seven days.

The good news is that we get a two-week break to catch our breath afterwards.  When this class is done, I will be half way through!  This is indeed a milestone for me considering it seems like only yesterday that I was first introduced to distance learning and was working hard to complete my associate’s degree in Information Systems from Kaplan University.  Wow.  The memories I have.

On a side note, I did receive a response from David.  David sent me my last fan mail.  He responded to the advice I have him.

Scott,

I really appreciate you taking time out to support a complete stranger. It speaks of a highly developed character. Your input is very helpful.

Norwich sounds good. UMass it turns out may not be so attractive. My business school credits are about 20 years old. They seem to discount credits older than 5 years.

I'm in the transition process between the two jobs.  I haven't changed jobs in 18 years. It feels a little unsettling. Thanks for helping.
