It’s week 7: Forecasting and Cash Budgets, Accounts Receivable and Inventory Management. The only number in my head at the moment is “5”. That’s how many weeks we have left in this class. My brain is absolute toast. First we’re getting an overview of the role played by forecasting in the firm's planning process. Then we’re focusing on the construction of detailed financial plans, including developing a cash budget for future periods of the firm's operations. The cash budget also provides the necessary information to estimate future financing requirements of the firm. These estimates are the key elements in our discussion of financial planning and budgeting.
The bright side is that the fan mail has increased a little. I am glad to get it. Janina writes:
I just finished reading your blogs on accreditation and I am considering enrolling with Kaplan in their AAS in Medical Assisting. I too notice that they are not accredited by the big dogs. Would you mind telling me how your experience was with your training from Kaplan?
I am not sure what accreditation is required in the medical field. The only research I have done is in the business field. If I were you, I would visit a medical office or hospital and speak with some of the people who work there to see what kind of accreditation is needed in their particular field. I do know that Kaplan does have accreditation in several areas, but I am not sure which ones, or if it is the type that is needed to get a job in the field that you are considering.
You will definitely need to do some work on your own. For all the good things I have to say about Kaplan, you don’t want to spend a ton of money only to find out after the fact that your education won’t be recognized in the real world.
Good luck!
