My Norwich University Experience

The Final Grades Are In

The final grades are in … (Not my overall grade for the class I just finished, but grades on all the work I did last week.)

I was pleased to hear that the group project got is an 89%.  With the difficulties and challenges associated with a group project of that size and the fact that our team was spread out over two continents, I am happy with an 89%.

On my final exam (that I did myself) where we described the unique challenges of strategic resource management for a manufacturing company that has businesses in four countries (USA, Mexico, France, and Turkey), addressing human capital, information capital, organizational capital, strategy alignment and enterprise continuity management, I got a 95%.  I am thrilled with that. After the mind-numbing exercise of the group project, I wasn’t much in the mood to do this assignment.  But I did put my best foot forward.  It seems to have paid off.

I am now officially 1/6 through my MBA program.  Before I got these grades, I was thinking I would be spending the next 15 months working my rear end off for a “B”.  I guess there is hope for an “A”.  I don’t like being in second place!

And finally, some fan mail.

"During your time enrolled at Kaplan, did they let you know if you were on the Dean's list or President's list? I am a student here as well. I should be on both lists, twice now actually, but I don't know where to look it up. Can you explain to me how this works?"

The President’s Honors List is comprised of students who have appeared on the Deans' List for three consecutive terms.  I made the President's List many times when I was at Kaplan.  I never looked to see if there was a way to find out.  I was always mailed certificates (several of which are framed in my office).  If you have any questions about this process, I would suggest you contact the registrar's office.  They were always helpful to me.
