HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! - Yep, today I am 37 years old. But that's no excuse not to keep posting on eLearners.
Gotta love the fan mail! Right in the middle of final exams. Awww yeah! Keep ‘em coming. I do enjoy helping people out. This question comes from J Mercado and asks about Kaplan's Human Resources program. Unfortunately, it took 4 days to get back to this fan because of final exams. Sorry about that!
I am thinking about starting at Kaplan University in November for a B.S. in Human Resource Management. I was wondering what you thought of the college, and I was also trying to find out when I do get my degree, is it possible to transfer that to a college in New York where I could get my Masters in Secondary Education. When you get a chance please respond. Thank you for your time in advance.
Sorry for the late reply. I have been tied up with some final exams.
Congrats on your higher education goals. Human Resource Management is a good field to get into. I do believe that if I were not in the field I am in, Human Resources might be my second choice.
You can read through my posts at e-Learners and tell what I think about Kaplan. I am very happy with them. I am graduating soon, and could not be happier.
Any degree you get from Kaplan is accredited by
The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and a member of the
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). That means when you decide to enroll in a MBA program, your degree will be accepted. There isn't going to be any credits you earn in your undergraduate degree at Kaplan that will "transfer" to a MBA program since the MBA is a different animal and completely separate from the undergrad studies. Going to Kaplan and getting a degree just means it's accredited and you can apply to pretty much any MBA program in the country.
In my search for my MBA program, I looked at Arizona State University, University of Houston, University of Dallas,
Norwich University, and several others. None of them seemed the least bit concerned that I get my degree from Kaplan. I think they are just wanting to ensure that your undergrad is "accredited".
I think that if your heart is in the Human Resources field, you would enjoy getting your degree from Kaplan. I would encourage you to do so. Education is a great thing, and no matter where you get it, it will help out. So many more good jobs are requiring degrees now.
Thanks for the e-mail and I wish you luck. If you have anymore questions,
please let me know!
