Just thought I’d throw out a random, mid-term update. Actually, I passed the mid-point in my final term at
Kaplan a week or so ago. I’ve been busy with life, but I’m happy to report that I’ve maintained grades ranging from 93% – 99.5% in all three of my classes this term. I am really pushing so I can get my GPA as close to 4.0 as possible. My GPA was about 3.6 before this term started, so I am hoping for a small bump up.
I’ve attempted to make the most of my degree lately. I applied for some positions that are more in tune with where I want to go. One of those includes a Director if IT position in my company. They have not started interviewing for it yet, but hopefully they will start soon.
I’ve also been in contact with
Norwich University. I am going to apply there next week. After several months of doing research on MBA programs, I have decided that the Norwich program is the one for me. I am waiting on my three letters of recommendation. They should be in next week. I’ll package everything up and send it off. I am honestly more excited about his program than any other. I hope I am accepted.
I am also going to apply to University of Dallas, University of Houston – Victoria, and Texas A&M – Commerce as a back-up. The cost of those programs are about half of Norwich since they are in-state, but I am looking for a program that fits me. That’s the price I am going to pay. I am OK with it. Norwich also has a one-week residency requirement at the end of the program. I’ve never been to Vermont and I think I’d enjoy the vacation.
I’ll keep everyone updated on the admissions process. Hopefully before it’s all over, this will blog will change from “My Kaplan University Experience” to “My Norwich University Experience”. The next round of classes start in December. So if I’m accepted, I’ll have about a month of downtime to prepare for my next adventure.
