It's A Good Day To Be Me

Today is a good day.  I spent the better part of the last two days getting my final exams done.  They are complete and turned in.  And one of them is already graded.  For anyone who might have the idea in their head that distance learning is not rigorous, I can just show them the final project from my IT Management class.  They will gain a whole new perspective.

It took about six hours to complete.  It was by far the most complex project I have done to date at Kaplan.  I think that this course was one of the most complex classes that I have taken at Kaplan as well.  I got a 100% on that final project, which made my final grade in the class 98.30%.  This will go a long way toward helping me to maintain my 3.x GPA.  This final exam/project counted for over 25% of my grade in the course.  I needed to do well.  I am very happy that I did.

The other final exam was online, and consisted of 45 questions related to Operations Management.  It was not an easy test, but I got an 82% on it.  This will still help me maintain an “A” in that class we well.  The instructor is a little slow on grading things compared to other instructors that I’ve had, but I am sure that grade will be in soon and I can see how I did overall.

Now that I have this huge burden (some might call it a monkey) off of my back, I am looking forward.  There is a few week break between terms.  I am going to decompress to the best of my ability and catch up on some reading, sleeping, and generally doing absolutely nothing as much as I possibly can.  In a couple of weeks, I will gear my mind for my final term at Kaplan.  I am taking three classes, and will be fully engaged in those classes so that I can finish with a bang as I move on to grad school.

It’s always a good feeling to finish a term.  It seems like the deeper you get into a degree the more complex and time consuming it is.  Being able to relax afterwards and enjoy the fruits of my labor is very important.  This reflects back on time management, which I will write about later on in the week.

Scott,

I was actually really surprised at how difficult and in-depth online education can be. I'm attending Ellis College for my BBA in Marketing. Some of the small essays I have completed have taken me days of research and writing to complete.
