Almost all of these categories require local labor, except for accounting, information technology, and engineering.  However, engineering is a special case, as there is a massive shortage of native-born talent in the USA.

Anyone looking for a recession-proof career should consider fields where the labor cannot be performed remotely.  For example, you probably want your law enforcement officers, nurses, pilots, and prison guards to be on-site, and not in a call center in India.

Greetings and salutations, I am your friendly neighborhood Content Director here at eLearners.com. (I am also mom to a seemingly tireless 4-year-old girl and owner to a cat that hates me. Oh well - can't win 'em all.)

I have a bachelor's degree in computer science from Rutgers College and am thisclose to completing my master's degree in instructional design from Western Illinois University later this year.
