5 Great Ways to Procrastinate

Does anyone actually need a blog post for this topic? Nah. But as I was drifting from my tax forms to fun sites on the Web, I thought I'd gather up some favorite spots for procrastination. If you are in need of time management advice, we offer genuine assistance and distance-learning focused fun.

Here are some popular time wasters that will simply keep you from your online studies. Enjoy (but not too much)!

Games

In 2003, Orbitz, an online travel and booking company, starting having their ads pop-up. The pop-ups provided games like putt-putt golf, shuffle board, and baseball. Today, Orbitz hosts a fun, distracting array of games you can play online for free. Snood and Bejeweled are puzzle games that big hits. Boomshine is like Asteroids, but with soothing background music and soft colors. Want to have an hour or two disappear? These games can help.

Videos

Want to see a funny clip from a favorite sitcom? Hulu has plenty television and movie clips to prevent you from getting any work done. Don't forget YouTube with its hours of homemade videos and much-loved television commericials.

Horoscopes

Yahoo! has provided addictive horoscopes for years and today they also provide Chinese astrology. Susan Miller's Astrology Zone offers in-depth horoscopes for the current month or year. Are you going to get any work done with these sites? No, but at least you'll know what to expect tomorrow.

Music

Sites like Pandora will have you distracted for hours searching for the right soundtrack to suit any mood.

Tabloids

Does it matter what Hollywood stars are doing right now? No, but it sure is entertaining and an excellent way to lose track of the time.

Greetings and salutations, I am your friendly neighborhood Content Director here at eLearners.com. (I am also mom to a seemingly tireless 4-year-old girl and owner to a cat that hates me. Oh well - can't win 'em all.)

I have a bachelor's degree in computer science from Rutgers College and am thisclose to completing my master's degree in instructional design from Western Illinois University later this year.
