According to an article in The Record, a Northern New Jersey based newspaper, more than 20% of traditional college students are taking at least one course online, convenience cited as the key advantage. And while some professors still resist, many have embraced online education as, simply, a “different [way] of learning.” They’re also pointing out new benefits to online learning—shy students find a voice in message board posts and e-mail exchanges with professors that they sometimes lack in the classroom.
And some community colleges, acknowledging that working adults make up much of the student population, are ramping up their online course offerings more than ever and expanding the number of online degrees available. One school, Fairleigh Dickinson University, is even requiring all incoming freshman to take one course online, showing their confidence that online classes work.
Distance learning is definitely showing no signs of slowing, so get on board! Search for an online degree offered by accredited online schools today!
