First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! I can't believe that it's actually 2008 already! I hope the beginning of everyone's New Year has turned out to be positive and wonderful so far! Now, on to the top 5 posts of the week!
1.) Cajun wrote a great post called "Introspection: A mini-guide on not destroying your education" at his blog My Ashford University Experience. In it he discusses some common mistakes that can hold you back when you get a new job. Things like answering your cell phone or being late too often really can take a toll on your professional life. Check it out, even if you're the world's best employee you could still brush up on your office etiquette!
2.) In ter's post "Happy New Year!" on the blog Financial Aid Answers you can learn all about the 2008-09 FAFSA! It's worth taking a gander at, especially if you want to see what's new about the FAFSA.
3.) Helen wrote a post called "Free Online High School Courses in Connecticut" here on the The eLearners News Blog that talks about a how some high school students, specifically those who are behind on classes, or are interested in classes that aren't offered at their schools, now have the opportunity to take online classes through a program called the Connecticut Virtual Learning Center. (http://www.ctvirtuallearning.com/) Personally, I think this really is a great alternative to summer school and I would have loved a "Shakespeare in Film" class!!
4.) Cajun wrote another great post called "Five Tips on Picking the Best MBA School for You." He lists some important issues that you need to think about when you're picking an MBA school. He also makes a good point in his post about picking the best school for you, not the "highest ranked." Check it out!
5.) Anyone looking for reference materials should probably check out WheelCipher's post "Reference Material: Open Courseware" on his blog My Norwich University Experience. He lists some pretty useful information about open courseware at MIT, so check it out if you're interested!
Well, I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and a wonderful New Year!
