Get the bang out of your online education by making sure you're learning the
skills employers go crazy for. (Psst! If you're missing any items on

Resources and Online Education Articles). In no particular order, these
skills include:
1. Excellent Communication
- Can you read & write well?
- Do have editing and proof
reading skills?
- Are you able to use word processing tools (Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, etc.)
- Can you send information electronically (E-mail, Blackboard, etc.)
2. Strong Work Ethic
- Can you kick yourself in the butt? (that means you're motivated and
self-confident)
- Are you honest? (as in you don’t cut corners)
- Do you manage your money and time wisely?
3. Interpersonal Abilities
- Do you build good relationships?
- Can you work in teams?
- Have you ever taught others?
4. Leadership
- Have you ever managed a group of people?
- Can you politick wisely or sell successfully?
5. Information Research
- Are you comfortable finding reliable data on the web?
- Are you familiar with library resources?
- Do you have experience with commercial databases?
(LexisNexis, Ovid, ProQuest, etc.)
- Can you conduct interviews?
