Top 5 Posts of the Week at eLearners.com - 08/17/07

Hey everyone!  Time for another set of the "Top 5 Posts of the Week!"  Alright then, right down to business we go!  Smile

1.)  Cajun's post "Why Smart People Fail in College" at his blog My Ashford University Experience is a great post that details some reasons why some people just don't do well in college.  It's worth a read, and you might even find that you have been guilty of displaying some of the traits that he mentions.  This post reminds everyone that you don't have to be a super genius in order to go to college.  You just have to have the drive to push yourself to obtaining what you want!

Cajun also wrote another great post this week called "Applying, Interviewing, Getting That Job: The phone interview."  He gives some great tips for when you're on a phone interview.  A lot of these tips also hold true for a regular face-to-face interviews and it's definitely good to just go over them and refresh yourself every now and then!  :-)

2.)  So, did anyone do a double take on Victoria's post "World's Oldest Gets Master's Degree" on the blog Inspiration for Education?  I know I did!  Only last week she posted a similar article titled "The Story of the World's Oldest College Graduate."  At first I thought, hey, we've read about this amazing woman already, but when I really READ the article I saw that it was about a different woman!!  Two 90+ females have graduated from college, thus proving that you can do anything you put your mind to!

3.)  Steve's post "The Full Plate" on his blog My St. Petersburg College Experience is a post that I think everyone should take a look at.  Here he reminds everyone to make sure that they do not fall prey to burnout.  You need to remember to budget in some time for yourself, if only so you can clear your head and relax a little.  Yes, it takes up valuable time but in the long run, it saves you your mental health!

4.)  irishmum78 wrote a great post "5 Simple Ways to Save $10 a Day (Post 1 of 5)" on her Affordable Online Education Blog.  It's a really great overview of some things that you can do to save money.  It's not difficult to do and there are some great practices in there that can help you out in the long run!

5.)  Lastly, tcord's post "Come ON Already!" on his blog My Penn Foster College Experience is a nice short post that reminds everyone that when you're going to school online you are still subject to some of the same gripes that any other student would go through.  Terry has been waiting nearly a month for one of his essays to be graded!  Hopefully it will all get sorted out soon!

Have a great weekend everyone!!  Big Smile

Greetings and salutations, I am your friendly neighborhood Content Director here at eLearners.com. (I am also mom to a seemingly tireless 4-year-old girl and owner to a cat that hates me. Oh well - can't win 'em all.)

I have a bachelor's degree in computer science from Rutgers College and am thisclose to completing my master's degree in instructional design from Western Illinois University later this year.
