Walden University as having some of the most diverse doctorate programs in the United States.

Walden University also ranked in the top 20 nationally for Latino and Hispanic students awarded doctoral degrees in Psychology. This year, Walden graduated a record 2,064 students - also its most diverse group ever! Walden University's president and Provost Paula Peinovich, Ph.D. said: "The rankings are a reflection of Walden University's mission of expanding access to graduate education to ensure diversity among our student body and our faculty."
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that peer acceptance is an important factor when evaluating online degree programs. Carolyn Estes, a doctoral student in epidemiology was quoted as saying, "Everyone, to me at least, is judged on a fair basis. When you're online, nobody's a minority. I have a good experience with the discussions online. I get to meet people in honesty." Ms. Estes is currently enrolled at Walden University and identified herself as an African American woman.
