Jeez. I get my fair share of spam and all, but in the past hour, I have received three emails encouraging me to
"Get a Degree and start making Money",
"Change your life instantly with a university degree" and
"Get that promotion you deserve!!!" I'm not the only one getting bomarded with emails like this, right?
"Do you have the Experience, but need the degree?
Our offshore University can offer you the following diplomas/degrees:

I'll
be the first to say that meaningful learning can and does occurs
through experiences outside of an academic classroom. However, IMHO, it
is naive to believe that one can exclusively use life/work experience
to "earn" an entire college degree.
Many schools will allow you to use personal or professional
experience to bypass an introductory course and start at a higher level
or "test out" of a certain number of credits [i.e. through
College Level Examination Program (CLEP),
DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), Excelsior College Exams
(ECE), Thomas Edison College Examination Program (TECEP) Tests, etc.]
Another way to legitimately earn college credits for what you
have learned outside the classroom is to create a portfolio documenting
prior learning. Generally, this prior learning must be verifiable and
equivalent to college-level work in its quality.
For those of you in the early stages of researching online education, please take heed of
diploma mills. A degree purchased from a diploma mill is not worth the paper it is printed on. However, have no fear when you search for
online degree programs at eLearners.com - all the schools in our database are nationally or regionally accredited by agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA. Begin your search for online learning today!
