Well, here we are in December and it is already time to close out the fall semester. When this term kicked off and I got my class schedules, I looked ahead at what was in front of me and it looked like quite a long haul. What probably made it seem even longer is the fact that I had just finished the summer session, which is a much shorter term than the normal semesters. I suppose that's what really makes it hard to believe how quickly this period has flown by. This time around it seems like that long, long semester simply melted away.
So now I have two final exams open online at St. Petersburg College. The first is in my Studies in Applied Ethics class, and it is due this coming Monday. I've been working hard on this exam, as it is a writing assignment based on viewing an online speech (about 20 minutes in length) and reviewing an online Web site about the statistical breakdown of the Earth's population. I was quite surprised to see that this final exam was a writing assignment. I really do prefer an exam like this one, since writing is something that has always been a big strength for me. I've had a great deal of success in writing for school and professionally, so an exam that is based on writing is right up my alley.
Now my Earth Sciences final exam is an entirely different matter.
Earth Sciences is a very interesting subject with a great deal of diverse material. Consequently, the final exam is a tough one, a total of 100 questions and a total of 100 minutes to take the test. Long, timed exams that have a tight limitation on the amount of time given to complete the test have never really been a strong point for me. That particular exam just opened this morning, so I have several days to get it done.
Phew.
