Your story is very inspiring. It makes me feel like I can accomplish more for myself. I work fulltime as a Registered Nurse and have 2 young children 4 and 7 year olds. How does it work out for you going to school and raising the kids? I would like to go back to school to get my Bachelors so I can become a Forensics Nurse but it seems very hard since I am also a Nurse Manager 5 days a week.

re: eLearners Welcomes Its Newest Blogger - Arlyne!

Welcome aboard Arlyne!

re: eLearners Welcomes Its Newest Blogger - Arlyne!

Thank you for the warm welcome!!!

re: eLearners Welcomes Its Newest Blogger - Arlyne!

Ask me anything.
I personally believe that time management and self discipline is the key. I too was worried at the beginning about the how will I ever get homework done? I have two young children and also work part time not to mention taking care of the house. The first two blocks were tough. By the third block of classes I had my routine down and thought to myself “I CAN DO THIS”. Here I am now with one block of class left to go and I have my whole schedule figured out perfectly. The big days are Sundays. Sunday assignments that need to me corrected and submitted before midnight Arizona time. I spend most of Sunday’s re-writing and correcting my rough draft, not to mention submitting my paper into the “Center for Writing Excellence” forum that will help with corrections on misused words and fragment sentences. You wrote you work full time. You can get your degree and be seccessful getting it if you really want it there are so many options to make it work. I work part-time so my job does not get in my way of school at all. My kids are in school part of the day and any free time I get, I do homework. Maybe if you print out the syllabus and the chapters needed you could read and rough draft your paper or if possible if you have laptop you can go online and do research for your papers during your lunch time. Everybody has a different routine, so I do not know what would work better for you. This is the part when time management and self discipline need to be used, if you really want that degree… there are many different ways to make it happen. It is all about what is the right one for you now.
