Okay, it’s official; I’ve been accepted into the
Bellevue University Master of Science in Management of Information Systems (MSMIS) program and will have an emphasis in Project Management. I will likely be registering for my firs class sometime within the month and will start actual coursework in June. The plan is to be a half time student, taking 1 class per semester with each semester being 12 weeks long except for the summer semesters which are 10 weeks. In all likelihood I’ll only take one of the 2 summer semesters depending upon whether or not they overlap, I’ll research that and report back.
I plan on using no financial aid and instead paying and waiting on employer reimbursement, sometimes that takes a while though so I’m trying to build up the war chest right now with 2 classes worth of tuition set aside. The great news is that Bellevue does have deferred tuition payment plans the way that works is as follows:
“When registering for sessions 12 weeks in length and utilizing the Deferred Tuition Payment Plan, a student must pay one-third of his/her tuition and fees, with the balance due in two equal monthly payments to begin on the fifth of the month following the commencement of classes. When registering for sessions 10 weeks or less in length and utilizing the Deferred Tuition Payment plan, a student must pay one-half of his/her tuition and fees, with the balance due on the fifth of the month following the commencement of classes.”
That will help somewhat so it’s likely I’ll take advantage of that. The key here is NO NEW DEBT. That’s the goal, I’m going to test my theory that it is actually possible to get a degree for free using employer reimbursement and that you can do so as long as you are financially disciplined. That away when I tell people that it’s possible in the future I’ll know what I’m talking about and be speaking from experience. I’ll start looking into my available courses next week, until then everyone have a great weekend.
