My Ashford University Experience

Vanessa is a 24-year-old stay-at-home mom, wife, military spouse, and veteran. She started her online education while she was still in the Navy. After receiving an honorable discharge, getting married, and having two beautiful girls in two years, she is still going strong with her education at Ashford University. She is currently doubling up on classes with hopes to attend graduation December 2009 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration.

Strange things in admissions at Bellevue

So Friday I had an encouraging conversation with Dan in the admissions department at Bellevue.  He said he was about to email me a bunch of information, etc. and that afterwards I would have all his contact info.  So I wait, nothing happens on Friday or over the weekend.  Fair enough, hey it’s Friday and everyone already has one foot out the door right?  Fast forward to today and I get a call from a woman from Bellevue (I forgot her name) asking me if anyone had returned my call from over a week ago when I had left her a voice mail.  Well since it was still early and I had all the confidence that could be mustered that Dan in admissions would pull through for me I told her that my questions had been answered and it was all good.  But the evening has since passed and still nothing from Dan.  Hmmm…  So I guess tomorrow I’ll have to follow up and see if Dan found out the answer to my unlikely request to have a concentration in Project Management instead of what is offered in their MS MIS program, hey it could happen right?

Well I’m not terribly discouraged, I had similar difficulties when I attempted to enroll at Southwestern College and it turned out to be a wonderful experience.  So let this be a lesson to all of you seeking to enroll into a college, be persistent if nothing else.  Of course it always seems to be one extreme or the other, either you get an admissions person who isn’t necessarily the “great communicator” or you get someone who will hound you to the ends of the earth in order to get you to enroll right this second.  Anyhow, as it stands now I want to begin the application process on the 15th of March.  We shall see…
