Tonight I received an e-mail from Ashford University confirming my enrollment into my final class, which like all the others will be exactly 6 weeks long. Given that I have 3 weeks left in this class that means I am officially within the single digits of weeks left before I complete all of my program requirements. The date of completion should be September 15, 2008. So right around time for football I should have everything pretty much wrapped up and in the bag.
I am looking forward to a nice little break before enrolling into anything else. I do not feel that my tenure as a student is yet complete as I would like to attempt a run for a doctorate or at the very least get a second masters degree. I think if I do go for that doctorate I will begin things with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Criminal Justice from Northcentral University. They have a law enforcement scholarship which places the cost at just right about affordable for paying 100 percent out of pocket. The courses are 12 weeks long and I fully intend on taking my time with them. Trust me, after slamming this MBA down like a shot of cheap, room temperature tequila I'm in the mood for something smoother and less hectic. Besides, I actually enjoy studying criminal justice and if nothing else I'll leave with a credential that will allow me to teach the subject.
Once I finish my MBA I will also be going full time into the job market. I'll of course post my experiences here so that everyone will be able to see what the MBA from Ashford has done for me, but I think it would be best to also point out that I am indeed a career changer. So it may serve a two fold purpose. How the MBA from Ashford is accepted in the real world and of course how an MBA will serve a career changer. I'm very tired but excited about the next several weeks. I cannot believe it's so close to being over with.
