Due to the grueling schedule as a full time law enforcement officer, Cajun has been a distance learner for the last 5 years. Currently he is attending Ashford University to earn his online MBA in Organizational Leadership.
Tonight I will wrap up Learning Block 2 in Operations Management. It was a 5 page research paper and a couple of discussion board questions. The reading assignments are fairly smooth as Operations Management is really just a form of systems thinking or what I call a big picture approach to handling situations. I’m one of those fortunate (or unfortunate depending on the situation) to have this sort of thing kind of come naturally to me so no worries there. It’s just how I convey my thoughts on paper that I need to work on. That APA format stuff really annoys me at times because I’ve always felt that the MLA format just made more sense, but I guess I’ll do it however it is required to be formatted.
This week went much better than last week from my own personal viewpoint simply because my stress level has started to somewhat taper down gradually with time. The last week of Managerial Finance definitely tested my ability to juggle all of my obligations and still make time to understand complex financial formulas, concepts and applications. I guess the pressure had been slowly building up on me what with a new house, moving, selling an old house and work related stress it all began to affect my health. All of these major life changes were during the time of my Managerial Accounting and Finance courses, it’s been a very rough 12 weeks but things are finally returning to “normal” or what passes for normal for me. I’m even beginning to start to enjoy things like playing guitar and listening to music again. Anyone here listen to Metric? (Recommended)
