Yesterday morning I got up at the crack of dawn in order to be at the title office in time to close on my new house. Thank God! It’s not quite yet over however as I still have to pay some construction guys to come through and redo all of the floors before we can move in. BUT, before they can do that, I have to go in and remove all of the vinyl flooring which may prove to be a real pain. It will definitely consume the better part of my Sunday and Monday.
Once in I have to begin moving stuff all over again. I don’t mind telling you that I’m not looking forward to that part even slightly. All in all we have another 2 to 3 weeks before we are “home” and of course I will still be in Managerial Finance busting my butt for the greater good of mankind, or at the very least Cajun kind. I started work on my week 2 assignment tonight which I initially thought would be pretty quick, since there was only 1 question in the case study. As usual I was wrong and it has taken me hours just to generate the data necessary to apply the formulas needed for the case study in order to answer a seemingly simple question. That’s about par for the course in this MBA program.
Something I am totally looking forward to is finally having an office. Not just any office, my own home office complete with a chair, a desk, a lamp, a laptop and my books all in one place. No longer will I be haunting the local Barnes and Nobles in an effort to seek some quiet time amongst leisurely shoppers, coffee aficionados and other geeks just like me. Long nights at the Waffle House will be a thing of the past too. I can hardly wait.
