My Ashford University Experience

Due to the grueling schedule as a full time law enforcement officer, Cajun has been a distance learner for the last 5 years. Currently he is attending Ashford University to earn his online MBA in Organizational Leadership.

Week 5 and I have the Flu…

It’s week 5 in Managerial Accounting.  After looking at Wheelcipher’s blog I see that he is coming down with the flu.  Well, it looks like it’s going around.  On Monday I had to take my wife to the doctor with her having the flu and later that evening I started to ache all over like when the flu is taking effect.  Well, it’s Wednesday and I can safely say I’m a walking epidemic.  Yuck.

I need a break.  Actually I need about 3 Ibuprofen, 1 hot cup of Theraflu, a nice soft bed and about 2 weeks of sleep but at this point I’d settle for not having to post my Discussion Questions for the week.  Take note all of you people considering an accelerated MBA program, there are no sick days.  Oh sure I could ask the professor to extend the deadline but guess what, the work will still have to be done.  I can either do it while I’m sick or do it while trying to catch up on everything else that’s due for the week.

So I cracked the books, read while blowing my nose, read while sucking down the bitter, acrid tasting Theraflu (which by the way doesn’t even resemble cinnamon apple like the package says) and finally wrote a discussion question.  It has easily taken twice the amount of time or more trying to do this through the haze of disease that I seem to be fighting through but I did it.  Not my best work but competent, kind of like Russian engineering on pretty much everything.  Yeah for me…

…now off to bed.
