Tonight I turned in my final project for Managerial Economics. I will take the final quiz in a little while and when I finish that, I will officially be half way through with my MBA. I would celebrate except that I anticipate the next two classes to be the toughest ones yet, Managerial Accounting then Managerial Finance. I really struggled in Quantitative Methods and had to resort to a few all night study sessions to grasp the material. Managerial Economics was a lot more to do with statistics, calculus and especially algebra than I thought it would and was a bit of an unpleasant shock. I’ll save the celebrating until I finish these next two courses in roughly 14 weeks. Two weeks off, then 6 weeks per class. Hopefully this little Christmas break of 2 weeks will allow me to catch my second wind. I’m getting tired and a little burned out though I will admit that I love to learn. If I wasn’t doing this I’d probably be doing something else, perhaps not at this pace and difficulty level but something nonetheless.
I think for this Christmas break I’ll pick up a Louis L’Amour novel or something. He writes Westerns in case you’re not familiar with the name. A little old school, a little predictable and somewhat two dimensional but I used to devour his books as a kid and found them to be especially relaxing. I can hardly wait.
As for the quiz, I’ll try to maintain enough self discipline to not just whiz through it in an effort to hurry up and get to the break, but it will be an exercise in sheer willpower at this point. I can’t wait to find out my grade on my final…it’s 30% of my grade don’t you know.
