Tonight I took my final assessment for the Accounting portion of my Quantitative Methods leveling course for Ashford. I made an 80% which is SUBSTANTIALLY better than the initial exam. Although this test really only accounts for 5% of my overall grade and the project which I just turned in is 10% (hopefully I did it right) the score on this test, really helped me psychologically. I was seriously so distraught after last week that I found myself even wondering why I chose an MBA in the first place and if I had made some huge mistake. Of course that was the natural second guessing that comes after a grueling Business Law course and a seriously disappointing first week in Quantitative Methods. Besides that, the quantitative methods stuff is what separates the MBA from, well, almost everything else unless you are an Accounting major or Finance major or something. By the way, majoring in Accounting or Finance in college is a sure way to be the next 40 year old virgin. (Just kidding all...or am I?) ;-p
I'm looking forward to the Finance portion over the next 2 weeks now that I've taught myself to study again. I'll probably have to pull a couple of shifts at the Waffle House again to get things rolling, but at least I've got my confidence back.
By the way, those notes that I took were a HUGE help on my last assessment. The book itself isn't so great but the notes were. Here's a tip, when you take notes out of your book, I recommend that you put the page number of where you located the information for that particular note in case you end up needing some more in depth information. This helped a lot.
