Well today I went ahead and submitted my final paper (fingers crossed) and overall I think it went okay. I really didn't take the time to proof read it as carefully as I should have because I was at the vet last night until 4:00AM with a sick dog. Then I had to get up and come to work at 12:00PM so overall my sleep and concentration quota are sub par. I forgot to order the books for my next course so I guess we're about to find out how quickly the Ashford Bookstore can ship. I don't recommend trying that yourself but since the damage is already done I suppose we can turn my lemons into everyone else's lemonade by seeing how responsive they are.
The next course on the docket is Managerial Marketing. To be frank, I know absolutely nothing about marketing but I believe it has something to do with getting people to buy your stuff? Well, I guess this will be an entirely new experience for me, I'm actually a little excited about learning totally new things in general but there is a tad bit of the apprehension of "what if I'm not good at it" kind of thing going on, but I'm sure it will all be fine.
One really cool thing I have found within the last couple of weeks is in the Student Portal at Ashford, they have this little bar graph that shows you the courses that you have completed vs. how many you have left to go in a graphic display, kind of like the Microsoft Windows loading bar and at the bottom they give you a percentage amount. That away when people ask you how much you have done you can truthfully say something like "well, I've gotten 14% done so that leaves me with another 86% left to go" which is neat. Of course early on this can be disconcerting, but as you progress it can be a really motivating tool. Very nice touch.
