HOLIDAY CARDS

Trim your list. When putting together your holiday card list consider trimming it down as much as possible. Consider skipping those you are in contact with on a regular basis as well as you haven't had any contact with in a number of years. Just sending out cards to people you really want to make this yearly contact with is a cheaper way to go.
Skip every other year. Most people won't cross you off of their holiday card list until they haven't received one from you for a few years. So skipping every other year allows you to stay on their list, yet save money overall. Plus you're busy getting your degree. They'll understand.
Update your address book. Making sure you have the correct address prior to sending out the cards is essential to avoid wasting stamps. Send postcards. Skipping the oversized holiday cards and sending postcards or holiday letters instead will save you on postage.
Shop late. Buying your holiday cards last minute help you score a better sale price. You won't have a large selection to choose from, but no one said all of your holiday cards have to be identical. Selecting a few boxes off of the clearance aisle will do the job and save you some money.
Send e-cards. By sending e-cards you eliminate the expense of purchasing the holiday cards and avoid costly postage. You also save yourself the time of signing and addressing the cards. Better yet, you will be saving a tree, not cluttering up the recipients mailbox and you can send them as late as the actual day of celebration.
